Crypto critics often slam Proof-of-Work energy consumption 🌍 thinking that high energy consumption is bad in any and all cases by default 🙅♂️
The fact of the matter is energy consumption is inextricably linked with human development.
The most developed countries have the highest energy consumption per capita and vice versa.
Therefore, it's not the amount of energy consumed that matters but the "cleanliness" of the energy sources utilized 🌿
And due to #PoW's ingenious game-theoretical dynamics, miners are incentivized to seek the cheapest sources of energy, which are often clean renewables.
In summary: PoW doesn't "waste" electricity, but rather transforms otherwise stranded energy into security for permisionless finance 🛡️💸
