Modular #blockchains are based on the concept of separation of concerns. If we accept that blockchains are for verification, not computation, then we must also concede that Layer 1's should specialize in being preservational instead of transactional platforms, because the L1 primarily provides long-term security for assets and the execution layers introduced on top.
